The Civil and Construction Engineering Student Club of Ilia State University was founded in 2020.

In the fall of 2021, the club was recognized as an official student member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and was given the corresponding name: American Society of Civil Engineers Ilia State University Student Chapter.

The main directions of the club’s activities:

Site visits

• Club members visit various construction sites at different stages of construction, learning about construction technologies, quality-control mechanisms, safety standards, etc.

Visits to engineering companies

• Club members periodically visit engineering organizations as well, where they learn about the course of the design process.

Meetings with guests

• The club arranges meetings with invited guests, including professional engineers and representatives of construction and engineering companies.

Student presentations

• The club gives students the opportunity to hold presentations, if they wish, on topics of interest to them and to other club members.

The club’s goal:

• The professional development of students;
• Promoting student employment;
• Introducing young people to accurate information about civil and construction engineering and popularizing this field.
