About the club
The Literature Lovers’ Student Club of Ilia State University is an intellectual and creative space for young people interested in books, the art of debate, and hiking.
A student with active status at Ilia State University who shares the club’s goals and is ready to participate in its activities can become a member. Members get acquainted with literature, hold debates, and engage in creative and intellectual events, some of which take place in nature.
The club’s goal
- Deepening critical thinking, argumentation skills, and interest in literature among students using innovative and interactive methods;
- Developing a culture of debate;
- Diversifying student life;
- Promoting creative reflection.
Main directions of the club’s activities
- Organizing discussions and intellectual debates;
- Holding public lectures on issues raised in literature or around a debate topic;
- Conducting literary expeditions — public reading in nature;
- Visiting the places described in the books under discussion to better understand the context of the work;
- Organizing one-day hikes;
- Organizing creative and intellectual games about the work read.
Conditions for accepting members
Those wishing to join the club must go through a two-stage selection procedure: filling out a motivation application and an interview.
The motivation application must justify in writing the applicant’s interest in the club’s goals, their experience, and their desire to participate in the club’s activities.
In the first stage, selected candidates undergo an interview with the club’s founders to assess their communication and critical-thinking skills and their fit with the club’s format.
